VETS ANNUAL TOURNAMENTS 2024

Entries Invited, BUT YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS TO ENTER...!

Hi Everyone,

The criteria for entering the VETs Annual Tournaments is that you must have had your 50th birthday before 31/12/24, this applies to both men & women.

There will be a limit on the number of entries to 32 individual players or pairings per competition and there is no cost to enter.
There is no limit to the number of competitions you can compete in, but do bear in mind should you be fortunate to qualify for all 3 Finals you will be expected to play in each one of them on the day.

Please register your interest by texting myself on 07973 425952, or replying directly to this email, and in the case of the Doubles Tournaments please mention your partner’s name.
If you don't yet have a partner you can still register along as your partner is named before the draw on 30th June.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY WILL BE SATURDAY 29TH JUNE 2024.

THE DRAW WILL BE MADE ON SUNDAY 30TH JUNE.

For all tournaments here are the deadline dates:

Round of 32, Matches must be played by end of Sunday 28th July (4 weeks to play the match)
Round of 16, Matches must be played by end of Sunday 18th August. (3 weeks to play the match)
Qtr-Finals, Matches must be played by end of Sunday 8th September. (3 weeks to play the match)
Semi-Finals, Matches must be played by end of Friday 27th September. (3 weeks to play the match)

FINALS DAY WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER 2024 (STARTING AT 11AM)

Seedings in Singles and Doubles will be incorporated into the draw and will be by decided upon by a small group of committee members/players who have a broad knowledge of playing standards at the club.

Matches are to be played best of 3 sets with a Championship tie-break for the third set unless it is agreed at the start of the match that a full 3rd set will be played as there are no court bookings beyond your allotted time. (This is best done when arranging to play in the evenings).
If only one person wishes that the 3rd set should be a Championship tie-break then that is what should be played.

There will be no extensions to any deadlines irrespective of any circumstances.

If players cannot play by the deadlines imposed due to numerous and varied reasons, they will need to check the rules and guidelines and decide amongst themselves who is to go through into the next round.
