Singles Leagues News

Hi Everyone,

Apologies, I should've mentioned this earlier, back in April I managed to speak and communicate with quite a few players from the Premier League Singles and League 1 Singles and it was felt that the current Premier league should no longer have any special status.

And, given the rather subdued activity in the Premier League this time around, (perhaps a bit of sameness, players playing the same players time after time...) I am inclined to agree.

So, in order to bring some new impetus and interest into the top 2 leagues, the Singles Premier League will become Singles League 1 as from July, and it will be just like any other league whereby there will be 4 players promoted into the league from League below, consequently, there will be more players relegated to make place for those promoted, furthermore, any new member joining the club wishing to play at the highest level, will not have to win promotion from L1 to the Premier League, but can join the new League 1 should they wish to, the top Singles League in the club, adding another layer of jeopardy for those languishing in the lower reaches of the top league.

All these changes will come into force immediately, giving the present League 1 players an extra promotion spot to chase for and of course dependent on new entries, more challenges for those who wish to remain in the top league.

So Why,...have I sent this communication to everyone in the Singles leagues even though it only really concerns those in the present Premier league and League 1 players...???

Because, the numbers of the leagues will change in the July-Sept period, for example, if you play in League 4 or 10, and have through brilliant play and resilient defence, managed to accrue enough points to remain in League 4 or 10, that league will now be known as League 5 or League 11.

So, you can imagine, as well as the normal and routine turmoil on the change over, everyone will be a little confused as to what happened, hence this missive to try to avoid all that confusion...

Is that clear....?

Clear as dishwater (I can hear you moan...)

Best wishes

DaveT
