Welcome
Welcome to Preston tennis club where we believe in creating the best facility for all members to enjoy the game in their own way.
On a secluded site on the north side of Preston Park (between Preston Manor and the cycle track) we have 10 floodlit ‘Advantage Red’ artificial clay courts which offer outstanding comfort and year-round play. We also have two tarmac pickleball courtshard courts, one of which doubles as a hitting wall.
We offer plenty of opportunities for players of all ages and levels to enjoy social and competitive tennis.
There are drop-in social doubles sessions every week, rolling internal singles with 12-14 leagues comprising around 160 players and 6 doubles leagues with around 75 teams, the main Annual and VETs tournaments, a SuperVets tournament, plus one-off tournaments and of course club Teams.
We have a great team of coaches to improve or refresh your game however long you’ve been playing. For juniors, in addition to a range of regular and holiday group coaching sessions there are internal leagues and competitions plus the opportunity to represent the club in the Sussex Junior leagues.
Our newly refurbished clubhouse has a kitchen, disabled toilet, changing/shower room, treatment room, table tennis table, bar and TV. We run a busy programme of social events for both senior and junior members. We have a small carpark and street parking nearby is free.
Every effort is made to make our club feel welcoming and inclusive. We are affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and meet all LTA governance and safeguarding requirements.
We are a carbon neutral club in that we make an annual payment to an accredited carbon off-setting organisation to help mitigate the negative climate impacts of our operations. We estimate we cause around 100t of CO2 emissions annually, mostly by driving to and from the club, and the club offsets this amount in full, making the club technically carbon neutral. However we encourage all members to adopt habits that reduce carbon and in particular to use sustainable forms of travel such as walking, cycling, scooter, bus or EV for their journeys to and from the courts. This will in turn reduce the emissions and the cost of offsetting them.
