Exciting News...!

Who doesn't welcome some Exciting News in these times of doom and gloom, black ice and stinking colds....
Well, we have it here, in your leagues...!

Sadly a few pairings have withdrawn from DL6 leaving that league a little under the weather, a little adrift from the scheme of things with fewer opportunities to play, to shine in these dark early season days, so, we have a solution....

Doubles League 5 & 6 are going to join together to form which will probably turn out to be the busiest, most dynamic league of them all.

This coming together of 2 leagues was trialled in the Singles for the Oct-Dec period and a big success it turned out to be, overall, many, many more matches were played in the one league, much more so than if the 2 leagues had been kept separate.

And it makes sense, if you put out an invite for a certain time and date, in the smaller league you make not get any takers, in a much bigger league the chances of finding a match are so much greater...

It's all about the "Tennis" the "playing", actually just having fun, and the more opportunities to do that the better.
We're not going to stand idly by whilst our bothers and sisters in League 6 forlornly seek opponents to play, we'll welcome them into the fold with open arms and balls at hand.

Someone may well cry out "What about the Promotion Spots...?",
That's easy ,they'll be increased to the top 6 positions.

"We won't be able to play all those matches..." That's fine, just play as many as you'd like to play, some will play quite a number and relish the extra number of teams, some will play their normal amount, but everyone will have more opportunities to play.
