Preston Net Zero commitment
The Club has decided to continue its association with Ecologi to maintain its "Net Zero" impact on Climate Change.
Last year we invested in a biomass power station in Chile. This year we have chosen an onshore windpower project at Mampuri in northwestern Sri Lanka. The turbines are already in place and they are generating power for the island. Our contribution of £870 will pay for 113 tonnes of CO2 emissions from the next-door conventional power station to be avoided (see pic attached). That is more than enough to offset the emissions that result from PLTC's activities.
