NEW Oct-Dec Singles leagues

Hi Everyone,

The NEW S&D leagues will be up on the website in a few moments.

Just a few things to comment upon…

Firstly, a Big Well Done to all those who managed to top their leagues, it’s a really difficult thing to achieve, not only on the court but also getting those matches arranged. RESPECT.

Likewise, Big Applause for those who managed to be promoted, these 4 positions are the only guarantees in the leagues and the reward is playing at a slightly higher level in the coming months, getting to play members you may not have played before and of course opportunities to continually improve your game.

In the Singles Leagues this time around we had 20 retirees and 25 new entrants, roughly spread throughout the leagues so there’s been no real drama and very few have been relegated.

The Doubles Leagues this time around is an altogether different story, Carnage in Leagues 3 & 4, red ink everywhere..!

We had some 13 teams retiring and 23 new doubles pairings joining the leagues, necessitating a League 6 to be created, with, you can imagine, a cascade of trickle-down relegations, even a few Double Relegated !, and, most of the new teams not getting their first choice of league but the league lower.
Remember, the standard of play hasn’t changed, it’s just the number of the league.

So there we have it, yet another campaign has drawn to a close, all sins have been wiped clean, fresh hope with a new league, new matches, new challenges, a time to compete again, but better…..
Remember, you must try to get at least 1 match played in the first 5 weeks, otherwise you may well be pulled out of the leagues.
