New S&D Leagues starting soon...!

NEW Singles & Doubles Leagues Jan-Mar 2025

Hi Everyone,

This is the standard call out for the leagues as I've already had some interest from new teams and players keen to join.
....The earlier you let me know of your interest (Singles or Doubles) the better chance you're likely to be placed into the league of your choice, if you let me know towards the end of December, well, you may be placed in a league lower than you had hoped for, just saying.....

As usual, if you are not yet involved or are new to the club and wish to take part then please let me know earlier rather than later, and definitely before the end of December, text me with your preferred league to play in on 07973 425952 or reply directly to this email.

For those already playing in the leagues and you wish to continue you need not do anything, you will be automatically enrolled in the leagues whether or not you are promoted, relegated or remain in the same league.

Those players/teams who've had difficulty in playing matches should pay particular attention to the next paragraph..
If you have played 2 or fewer matches in the last 3 months you will be removed and not automatically included in the next set of leagues, you must get in touch with me if you wish to play in the next set of leagues.

If you wish to cease playing in the leagues, please, please let me know before the leagues are published. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. If a number of players pull out soon after the leagues are published, this upsets the balance of some leagues to the detriment of those players in those leagues, so please, please let me know if you no longer wish to play in the leagues.

Naturally, if you are changing partners in the Doubles Leagues you must also let me know.

For those entering, bear in mind that at least 1 match must be played within 5 weeks of the league start date, otherwise the player/team will be removed from the leagues.
Naturally a player/team can make a representation to explain their inactivity and intentions to play in the remaining weeks, however, this representation must be made before the end of the first 5 week period, they will then have 1 further week to play their first match , if no match is played, they will be removed from the leagues.

Important Note:
Playing in the leagues is a commitment of time and effort, not only on the courts but in arranging matches, unfortunately not everyone can manage to play as much as they wish to, and for various reasons, their intentions at the outset of the leagues become compromised and they sadly end up playing very few or even no matches at all, as much as it is a disappointment for themselves, it is also very disappointing and frustrating for other players/teams in the leagues.

If you think that you will be away or unavailable for a good part of the Jan-Mar period, PLEASE, DO NOT enter the leagues, instead, perhaps take some coaching, it really does make a difference, just a few lessons can get you back on track, play some friendlies, use the ball machine, and when you're ready return into the leagues (into a league of YOUR CHOICE..!) when you can see yourself playing an active role throughout the 3 month period.

The current leagues finish on Tuesday 31st December and I hope to have the new leagues up and running soon afterwards.

Heh, and if I don't see you on the courts over the next couple of weeks, Have a Wonderful Festive break, with lot's of tennis perhaps........

Best wishes..
DaveT
