Hi everyone,
Steve MacVicar and I are looking for another person to join us in running the bar. Are you interested?
What does it involve?
With three of us in the team it makes the contribution required fairly light and it means that there should be holiday cover
- One of us organises the bar rota 4 times a year (at the moment this is my role)
- We maintain the bar stock. The frequency of re-stocks varies although we’ve noticed this is becoming more needed as the warmer days arrive. It’s also essential around club events e.g. quiz nights, finals day etc. We have a Bookers (cash and carry) card and order from Tesco’s on-line using a PLTC bank card. On delivery days, members sometimes help with the unload, or the Tesco driver will drop off in the clubhouse
- We also do a quarterly stock take
- One of us will attend the committee meetings (this can be shared on a rolling basis)
As this entails trips to the cash and carry, this would ideally suit somebody with a car and daytime availability during the week.
I’m finding it a social and fun volunteering role because you’re working as a part of a group. Work gets shared and no one person feels like they have to take full responsibility, meaning work or family needs and holidays can all be worked around.
